On 16th February, 2023, on the eve of the 19th Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum, in Moscow, the Permanent Mission of the Krasnoyarsk Region under the Government of the Russian Federation held an expert session «Foreign Economic Cooperation of the Regions of Yenisei Siberia with Foreign States» and a presentation of EF2023. The Russian side was represented by members of the Government of the Krasnoyarsk Krai, heads of the Yenisei Siberia Development Corporation, Siberian Federal University, representatives of the Department of Economic Cooperation of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The event was attended by participants from about 20 countries. These include the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Eritrea to the Russian Federation, Asged Petros Zeggai, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Namibia to the Russian Federation, Kashuupulwa Clemens Handukeme, representatives of the business circles of India, Participants from Armenia, Kazakhstan, China, Thailand, Qatar, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, South Ossetia, Mongolia, Iran, UAE, Djibouti, Algeria, Angola, Rwanda, Brazil, Nigeria.
On the part of the Association for the Development of Entrepreneurship and the Support of Business Relations “Indian Business Council,”, the event was attended by the President of the Association Mr. Akashdeep Singh, executive Secretary Mr. Ashok Jayashwal, members of the Indian Business Council Mr. Jamie Lalwani, Mr. Niraj Kumar and Mr. Dhananjay Kumar Singh. Krasnoyarsk authorities provided a complete picture of prospective collaboration with interested parties, covering logistics, industry, tourism, building, mining, educational exchange, and so on. According to the presentation displayed at the expert session, the region ranks first in gold mining and is a major producer of wood and wood products.
The guests were familiarized with the key investment projects of TRC «Yenisei Siberia» and possible areas of cooperation, as well as the possibilities of the educational system of the region – primarily SibFU, perspective directions of the university in the field of science and innovation oriented towards international cooperation. The participants of the meeting were presented the business program of the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum «Time of Siberia», which will be held on March 1-3, and were invited to take part in EF2023. One of the thematic areas of the forum is focused on the «eastern vector» and interaction with the countries of Asia, the Middle East and Africa, taking into account the current economic and geopolitical situation. IBC members, together with participants from other countries, had constructive discussions and looking forward to participating in the next business summit in Krasnoyarsk in order to strengthen ties between India and Russian regions.
