Indian business council visited C.I.T. Terminal

The conference between Akashdeep Singh, CEO of Vulkan-A Textiles, Sheeram Gums (food industry, chemicals for oil and gas industry), the President of the Association for the Development of Entrepreneurship and Support of Business Relations “Indian Business Council”, and the manager of C.I.T. Terminal Valerii Denisov took place 19 August. During the meeting the sides discussed cooperation between companies.

Container terminal «C.I.T.» was opened in 2011 as part of the implementation of the Transport Development Strategy of the Sverdlovsk region, located in the South-Eastern part of Yekaterinburg.

Currently, the terminal is a modern transport and logistics center, one of the largest freight processing complexes of the Ural Federal District.

Since 2019, it has been developed under the brand of JSC «CIT Terminal».

On the territory of the container terminal are located: • Oktyabrskiy customs point of Yekaterinburg customs, • Phytosanitary control station of Rosselkhoznadzor administration of the Sverdlovsk region, • Veterinary post.

Container Terminal «C.I.T.» provides a full range of services on terminal processing, storage, assembly and organization of receiving/sending of 20-, 40- and 45-foot containers, refrigerated containers in all Russian and foreign directions; the organization of multimodal transport and the transport of goods, including heavy and dangerous goods, as part of fast container trains.

The current Russian situation has made logistics more complex and supply chains have changed, suggesting new solutions. In this regard, the parties discussed the issue of the international transport corridor project (INSTC) «North-South» and its further development, perspectives on working together in this direction.

The “North-South” route stretches 7,200 kilometers from the Indian port of Nava Sheva, located in southern Mumbai, to Saint Petersburg via Iran. Sea, river and rail transport will be used. The transit time from Mumbai to Saint Petersburg on the traditional route through the Suez Canal is now 30 to 45 days, and the “North-South” corridor is 15 to 24 days. The Association for Development of Entrepreneurship and Support of Business Relations «Indian Business Council» and «CIT Terminal» discussed opportunities for cooperation within what the Council can provide to participating organizations.
