Russian-Indian Dialogue: Prospects and Plans

On the eve of the New Year, 24-12-2024, a meeting took place between Vladimir Zatynayko, Deputy Director of the Roscongress Foundation, and Akashdeep Singh, President of the Indian Business Council.

During the business conversation, potential avenues for Russian-Indian cooperation within the framework of events organized by the Foundation were discussed. In 2023, trade turnover between Russia and India increased by 1.8 times, reaching 65 billion dollars, making Russia the fourth-largest trading partner of India. However, imports of Russian goods to India exceed exports by 15 times.

Mr. Akashdeep Singh noted that the volume of Indian exports to Russia could be significantly increased, considering the diverse production across India’s 25 states, including information technology, pharmaceuticals, textiles, food products, chemicals, machinery, construction, retail, ceramics, metallurgy, biotechnology, and more.
