On February 2, 2023, Mr. Akashdeep Singh, the president of IBC, attended online an interactive meeting with H.E. Mr. Igor Levitin, the assistant to the president of the Russian Federation hosted by the Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO) in New Delhi, India.
The logistics issues in bilateral trade between India and Russia, as well as trade possibilities between Russia and India, particularly with regard to ruble-rupee trade, were the key topics covered during the meeting.
According to H.E. Mr. Igor Levitin, many efforts have been taken to develop the INSTC (International North-South Transport Corridor) in order to shorten the time required for shipping goods and boost trade between the two countries. He highlighted that in order for Russia to successfully move to the east, one of the key problems right now is logistics, which needs to be resolved.
The launch of the ruble-rupee exchange is being prepared for, it was mentioned. The preliminary steps taken in this regard, the work of the Indian Embassy in Russia, and the activity of many Russian and Indian banks were all topics of discussion among the attendees.
IBC President pledged that our association will take the necessary actions to help deepen relations between the countries.
