On 06th April 2023, IBC members held a meeting with Mr. Fedor Sletov, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Science of the Moscow Oblast.
Indian Business Council was represented by its President Mr. Akashdeep Singh, Vice-president Mr. Mir Farooq, General secretary Mr. Ashok Jayaswal and Mr. Anjani Das.
The main discussion topic was the future business-mission of the enterprises of Moscow oblast during a large-scale road show in the Republic of India on April 26-28, with the area being showcased in the cities of Delhi and Mumbai.
As of now, export deliveries from the Moscow oblast(region) to India at the end of 2022 set an absolute record for the entire period of trade between the parties. In monetary terms, the volume of exports amounted to almost 1.3 billion dollars.
According to Mr. Fedor Sletov, after 2019, they will begin developing their cooperation in that format for the first time. At the moment, the Moscow Oblast is prepared to work on relations with India, even though the current circumstances do not fully permit it. He remarked that their experience with COVID taught them to be prepared for any unforeseen challenges.
IBC members presented their experiences of participating in various events in India and meeting with different Russian regions, as well as recommendations for improving the framework of the partnership to make it more efficient.
Mr. Fedor Sletov offered full details on the event’s program, noting that the Moscow oblast is ready to inform Indian enterprises about all of the benefits the region can provide.
The parties agreed to exchange all necessary information, put up joint effort to prepare the event in the most beneficial manner, and accomplish the objectives of fostering commercial ties between Russia and India.
