IBC held an online meeting with the Chamber of Commerce of the Kursk region

On March 09, 2023, the Association for the Development of Entrepreneurship and Support of Business Relationships «Indian Business Council» held an online meeting with the Kursk region Chamber of Commerce and Industry Union.

The conference was attended by the president of Indian Business Council, Mr. Akashdeep Singh, as well as the organization’s executive secretary, Mr. Ashok Jaishwal, Mr. Anjani Kumar Das, and Mr. Kishore Mardani.

The Union’s “Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kursk region” was represented by Mr. Alexey Belodurov, the organization’s president, Mrs. Elena Tesleva, its first vice president, and Mrs. Elena Mitrofanova, the department’s director of foreign economic relations. The event was also attended by a representative of the Russian Export Center of the Kursk region Mr. Dmitry Melyutin.

Members of the Indian Business Council expressed an interest in partnering with enterprises in the Kursk region. Mr. Akashdeep Singh reviewed the trend of greater trade relations between Russia and India, as well as the role of the Indian Embassy in this regard. He recommended information exchange between enterprises in both countries, highlighting the importance of developing a framework for collaboration and selecting priority areas.

Mr. Alexei Belodurov, President of the Chamber of Trade and Industry of the Kursk region, announced that the governor and deputy governor of the Kursk region would be joining the Union on a business trip to India this spring. He said that the essential preparations for the occasion had already begun and that the Union was working diligently to advance the relevant problems while taking into account the interests of the region’s businesses in Kursk. A rough list of organizations and potential collaboration areas was also provided by him. He emphasized that the Kursk region is now especially interested in partnering with Indian businesses and expressed a wish to jointly schedule a trip to India in order to further the bilateral relationship. Mr. Belodurov stressed that the Kursk region is now particularly interested in working with Indian firms and indicated a readiness to cooperate with others to organize a trip to India in order to strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

Mr. Dmitry Melyutin, a representative of the Russian Export Center for the Kursk region, discussed the potential of the Export Center and laid out his vision for further cooperation. These include compiling a list of businesses that view India as a potential market for the export and import of goods and services; posting details about the Indian Business Council on the organization’s website; and promoting international cooperation and joint business activities. In response, representatives of the Indian Business Council reaffirmed their willingness to offer the most assistance possible to Indian businesspeople operating in the Kursk region, saying that “now is the moment to act.” The sides agreed that future meetings should be scheduled and also that information about companies interested in collaborating should be provided in order to improve connections between the two countries.
