The Eastern Economic Forum

From 3rd to 6th September 2025, The Indian Business Council, represented by its President Mr. Akashdeep Singh, actively participated in the Eastern Economic Forum to strengthen economic collaboration between India and Russia. The forum provided a strategic platform for deepening trade relations and exploring new investment opportunities.
During the event, Mr. Singh held substantive discussions with senior representatives from Sberbank. Both parties examined the bank’s proposed expansion into the Indian market and its potential to provide enhanced financial services supporting bilateral trade and investment activities.
A meeting with executives from Wildberries, Russia’s dominant e-commerce platform, focused on developing commercial pathways to introduce Indian products to Russian consumers. The discussions identified potential collaborations to increase trade volume and market access for Indian goods.
The delegation also met with representatives from the Investment Agency of the Ivanovo Region to reinforce regional partnerships. Both sides committed to maintaining communication channels between Indian businesses and regional stakeholders, with focus on identifying growth sectors and developing sustainable commercial frameworks.
