IBC Marks Third Anniversary with Strategic Growth & New Initiatives at Annual Meeting

On May 30, 2025, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Indian Business Council (IBC) was held at D.P. Dhar Hall, Embassy of India (EOI), Moscow.
The event marked the third anniversary of the Council and underscored its evolution from mere presence to tangible impact, with notable growth in sectors such as textiles, pharmaceuticals, and logistics.
Key achievements presented during the meeting included the successful
organization of a major India – Russia B2B forum, a ₹4.6 billion investment in recycling initiatives, and the establishment of strategic partnerships with prominent organizations such as Roscongress and Gazprombank. While the India – Russia trade deficit currently stands at $3.52 billion, Indian exports — particularly in pharmaceuticals and electronics — continue to show resilience and growth potential.
Additionally, the new IBC team member Ms. Tatiana Kovtun was introduced, followed by productive discussions on enhancing the Council’s effectiveness and public profile:

  • Expand membership to Russian firms seeking Indian ties
  • Launch IBC magazine, awards, training programs, and discount cards
  1. Mr. Farooq Mir (Pharmaceuticals & Regional Engagement):
  • Leverage new MoUs for sectoral collaboration
  • Conduct 4–5 regional visits to strengthen ties
  1. Mr. Kishore Mordani (Digital Strategy):
  • Modernize the IBC website with member profiles
  • Boost social media engagement
  1. Mr. Anjani Kumar Das (Finance & Operations):
  • Align financial planning with strategic goals
  • Create an industry databank Additional Goals:
  • Secure dedicated office space
  • Strengthen Embassy coordination
  • Partner with Sberbank for a joint business platform
